Workshop: Pitching for Beginners with Hella Ibrahim
Saturday 22 June, 12.30-3.30pm, Geelong
Got a whole lot of ideas, but not sure where to direct them?
When it comes to finding a home for your work − be it fiction, poetry or nonfiction − it’s as much about the art of the pitch as the ideas and the writing.
In this three hour workshop with Djed Press’ Hella Ibrahim, you’ll explore how to take the ideas from concept to pitch: how to conceptualise your idea in a quick and clear way; how to work out the best place for your story and how to sell your idea, and how to approach and talk to editors, including the follow up.
Participants will be required to bring an idea or outline for a potential piece of writing to pitch, fiction, poetry or non-fiction, to share in the workshop.
This workshop is open to women and non-binary writers, and focuses on developing the skills of emerging writers.
